Our story
Dr. Ernest Pelloni founded this practice on a single idea: that a patient treated like a member of the family gets better care and is less afraid to come back. Seventy years later that is still the whole method.
Over sixty years ago Dr. Ernest Pelloni had a vision. His dedication to caring for people and his love of life led him to build a dental practice that was, by any measure, unusual. He believed that treating each patient like a member of his own family would mean they got the best possible care, and would feel comfortable while they got it.
Dr. Cerrato took the practice on years later, and cared for the same families until he retired. Today it is led by Dr. Dominique C. Lizzio, Dr. Susie Ko and Dr. Lauren C. Cantwell.
Patients still write about that lineage. One recent review begins “My family and I have been coming to this practice since Dr. Peloni” — three named dentists and four generations of one family, at one address on Stewart Avenue.
Our focus is on you
When you walk in you are greeted by people who know you, and that is not an accident of scheduling. Several of our team have been here for decades, which is why a small change in your mouth gets noticed early rather than at the point it needs a crown.
Before treatment, time goes on your general health, your history with dentists, and what you actually want. Every detail is explained before anything is started. If you are nervous, or something hurts right now, say so and we will work around it.
Seventy years is long enough to have replaced everything except the reason the practice exists.
Four generations of some Garden City families have been treated here. Patients bring their children, and later their grandchildren.
